Nominations and promotions in the
episcopal hierarchy are first submitted to the Popular Counsel ( Hoi-Nhon-Sanh )
made of Sacerdotal council ( Hoi-Thanh ) made up of Priests, Bishops,
archbishops ang Principal Archbishops. They are also submitted to the High
Council ( Thuong-Hoi ) made up of Cardinais, Censor Cardinals and the Pope, and
finally must be approved by God or by the Spiritual Pope Ly-Tai-Bé. Sometimes,
a follower may be directly appointed by God
Lady dignitaties reach the rank of
Dau-Su only ( Lady Cardinal ) .
11 - THE 3 BRANCHES OF THE
EXECUTIVE BODY
For gentleman dignitaries of the
Executive Body, From the rank of Chuong-Phap ( censor Cardinal ) to that of
Le-Sanh ( Student Priest ) each echelon is subdivided into 3 Branches, each
corresponding to the 3 Principal religions : Buddhism, Taosm and Confuciancism .
a ) - Buddhist branch (
Phai-Thai ) Whose dignitaries are dressed in yellow, the color of virtue .
b ) - Taoist branch (
Phai-Thuong ) Whose dignitaties wear azure, the color of telerance, pacifism .
c ) - Confucianist branch (
Phai-Ngoc ) Whose dignitaries are chothed in red, symbol of authority .
( The branch which the
dignitary belongs to may be only revealed by God. These 3 branchs form the
tricolored banner of Caodaism )
The dignitaries of the same
echelon, either Confucianists or Taoist or Buddhists have the same attributes .
Suppose Mr John SMITH is
appointed Student Priest. By divine revelation, he belongs to the Buddhist
branch ( Phai-Thai ) his religions name Would be " Thai Smith Thanh
" ( Wearing yellow gown ) Mr SCOTT belongings tothe Taoist branch,
would bear the name of " Thuong Scott Thanh " ( azure
gown ) . Mr BURNE belonging tothe Confucianst branch would bear the name
of " Ngoc Burne Thanh " and dress in red .
During the papacy of the
Spiritual Pope Ly-Tai-Pe, all the dignitaries of the Executive Body bear the
particle " Thanh " ( limpid, pure ) after their names. The
dignitary will conserve his religions name when he is appointed to a higher
echelon .
Sub-dignitaries ang Followers
are dressed in white, symbol of purity .
LADY DIGNITARRIES - There
is no brance for lady dignitaries . They all dress in white . Each of them would
bear only the particle " Huong " ( Perfume ) before her maiden
name ( ex. Huong MARGARET ) Whatever the rank she maybe .

CAODAISM
The regime is fundamentally
democratic. tree councils povern the Holy See :
a ) - Popular council ( Made up
of student Priests, Sub-digni-delegato per 500 members make plans for the future
.
b ) - Sacerdotal Council ( made
up of Priests, Bishops, Archbishops and Principal Archbishops ) examines
the plan of the Popular Council .
c ) - High Council ( made up of
Cardinals, Censor Cardinal and the Pope ) . Finally the plan is submitted to
this Coucil for approbation .
When these 3 Councils are not
one, the plan must be submitted to God who arrives at a decision .
